Hayley McGrail, a 2007 Music Education graduate, was first one of Jeremy’s students and then one of his fellow staff members at Maranatha Baptist Bible College. From 2008-2009 Hayley served as a dorm supervisor and the women’s soccer coach. This coming fall Hayley will be starting a new chapter in her life as she moves to Anderson, SC to teach music and coach soccer at Oakwood Christian School.
Concerning the events leading up to the recording of Be Still Hayley relates,
“As Mr. Vegter and I were figuring out what the name of this CD should be, one song really stuck out to me because of its lyrics and the personal meaning it had in my own life. Tackling a new teaching job this coming year, moving fourteen hours away from my home (from where I am comfortable with the support of my friends and family) was a really hard decision to for me to make. I wanted to stay where I was comfortable – I loved my job, I loved MBBC. But the Lord kept directing me away from my comfort zone. And through all of these decisions and changes, the words to “Be Still, My Soul” kept running through my mind:
Be still, my soul, the Lord is on thy side,
Bear patiently the cross of grief or pain,
Leave to thy God to order and provide,
In EVERY change, HE faithful will remain.
And I can testify that through every change He has been faithful. And I know that “He faithful will remain” through the many more changes that are coming in my life.”
